League’s top seed after first round La Salle stakes its unblemished record to third-running Ateneo as second round action resumes today in the UAAP season 76 volleyball tournament at the San Juan Arena.
The first half of the elimination has ended last week and suggested expected outcome as perennial favorites Lady Spikers and NU Lady Bulldogs had dominated the league taking the number one and two spots respectively after the first seven games of the season.
Quiet revelations were Lady Eagles and the Lady Tamaraws, who despite having not so fancied line up placed at third and fourth with 5-2 and 4-4 slate respectively.

The Taft-based spikers swept the first round for a perfect 7-0 record while NU volleybelles, who defeated FEU 25-18, 26-24, 25-23 yesterday in the first day of the second round improved to 7-1 card.
La Salle which walloped Ateneo, 25-16, 25-20 and 25-16 in their first encounter just last Sunday will again lean on the frontline of Mika Reyes, Ara Galang and Abi Marano to repeat on arch-rival Lady Eagles at 4 pm and extend their unbeaten run to eighth.
The Katipunan-based squad on the other hand, which had a revamped line up following the departure of the “fab five” due to graduation will be spearheaded by Alyssa Valdez in their bid to try and stop the Lady spikers.
In the curtain-raiser at 2 pm, the Adamson (3-4) collides with slumping UP Fighting Maroons (1-6) to start their respective seven-game schedule on a positive note.
