Yolanda’s aftermath that struck specifically in the city of Tacloban, will always be remembered by some filipino due to the “Storm Surge” which seemed like a tsunami attacked last November 8, 2013, leaving depressed, frustrated and also give individuals a sense of hopelessness.
With this unexpected phenomenon, a disaster-Storm Surge, also destroyed some of the vital infrastructures, agriculture as well as took the thousands lives of many.
Meanwhile, in regard with this, on Thursday January 16, 2014, municipal government of Jolo in Sulu also suffered this kind of disaster, as Sulu Mayor Hussin Amin declared a state of calamity after the town’s Sangguniang council approved a resolution for the immediate release of a calamity fund for relief operations for at least 15,000 residents displaced by the disaster spawned by the low pressure area (LPA) over Northeastern Mindanao.
At this point there are already around five barangays which hardly battered by big waves, including Chinese Pier, Takut-Takut, Tulay, Walled City, and Bus-Bus which resulted to the homelessness of hundreds of people living in that particular area.
The newly constructed 100 units of stilt housing projects for the Badjaos of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), also hit by the big waves, and the damages were over all estimated by municipal engineering personnel which already reached P17 million.
Due to this matter Regional Governor of ARMM Mujiv Hataman already take action and extended the emergency and relief (–foul word(s) removed–)istance to the affected families.
