The 47-year-old Rose Fostanes is the lone Filipino contestant of the X Factor which held its first season in Israel and she was declared as the winner last on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 in Israel (Wednesday Morning in Manila).

Rose Fostanes is a caregiver working in Israel but her success and shot to stardom drew much surprise. She was able to belt out popular hit songs by the likes of Christina Aguilera, and the band Queen even performing her own rendition of “My Way” by Frank Sinatra.

Osang Fostanes joined the competition to served as an inspirations to her fellow Filipinos working abroad. In an interview she was quoted as saying “Being in this competition, I think I that I am, how do you say this, I will be a leader for them because of what I did,” she said.

Rose Fostanes added further that “I think also they will be proud of me, and they will be – and everybody in the world will know that Filipinos, even working as a cleaner, or whatever a foreign worker can also share their talents and they can also be a part of a big event like this,” she added.
