Partially Frozen Niagara Falls Photos Went Viral

The Niagara Falls is considered as one of the most amazing wonders of mother nature but because of severe cold weather, a huge ice formations are starting to take shape at the falls particularly at the American side due the polar vortex.

Numerous photos surfaced online about the frozen Niagara Falls in the past few days but some of those pictures were taken way back, or years before the “Polar Vortex” hits the United States and Canada.

Some of the pictures of the frozen Niagara Falls that was posted online in the last few days were from the year 2011. According to a news report posted by Gizmodo, one of their source Caitlin Dewey, a Niagara Falls native posted on the internet stating “No, Niagara Falls is not “frozen solid.”

Yahoo News reported that the polar vortex that gripped the United States and Canada this week has led to some spectacular icy images. The Niagara Falls is partially frozen as confirmed by Yahoo, since Tuesday when the temperature hit a record low of minus 2 degrees.

Reuters photographers Aaron Harris also took photos of the 167-foot frozen falls on Wednesday, the ice were formed on the U.S. side of the falls.  Aside from Reuters and Yahoo posting partially frozen Niagara Falls other international news media posted their recent photos of the frozen Niagara Falls.
