The organizers of the upcoming 2014 Winter Olympics which will be held in Sochi, Russia is the most most secure in the game’s history according to the organizers. The 22nd Winter Olympics will be held this coming February 2014.
The head of the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee, Dmitry Chernyshenko made the following statement:
“From the beginning of the construction phase, security was given paramount importance in the preparations for the Games,” Dimitry Chernyshenko stated. He added further in an interview with Russia Today that, “And in the opinion of all international experts and the IOC [International Olympic committee], the Russian state authority is providing incredible measures and procedures to guarantee the safest and the most secure Games ever.” he said.
The participants of the 2014 Olympics were questioning the security preparations of the Winter Olympics when two suicide bombings attacked the Russian City of Volgograd, situated 700 kms. from Sochi.
According to the Sochi 2014 organizers, Sochi is really calm and friendly environment and all security is in place as they endure that despite the global threat of terrorism, everybody will be protected in Sochi.
The Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics will start this coming February 6-23, 2014 in Sochi, Russia. Some of the sporting events will be held in the resort town of Krasnaya Polyana. A total of ninety-eight events in fifteen winter sports will be held in the XXII (22nd) edition of the Olympic Winter Games.
