Private Hospitals Disagrees with PhilHealth Contribution Increase

The Private Hospital (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation of the Philippines (PHAP) are also against the recent increas in PhilHealth Contribution as revealed during an interview with DZMM.

According to an interview with PHAP President Rustico Jimenez, he noted that the first to be be affected by the increase in PhilHealth contribution are the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

The head of PHAP denied the reports that PhilHealth has no credit or obligations with their organizations. According to Jimenez, PhilHealth did not pay their member hospitals at the right time based on their agreement.

The operations of hospitals in the Philippines are affected after PhilHealth failed to met with the agreed 60 days payment of the government insurance company to private hospitals.

The PHAP President was quoted as saying “Wag na muna siguro mag-increase ng premium (contribution), total sabi nila marami silang pera, may mga sin taxes na nakukuha. Bayaran na nila yung premium para po hindi na mag-suffer yung ating maliliit na trabahador,” Jimenez said.

Meanwhile PhilHealth on their part stated that they have already settled the complaint of the private hospitals including their obligations to them.

PhilHealth made the following statement:

“Yan naman po ay ating isinaayos na at kahit naman sa ngayon kahit kausapin natin ang Private (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation of the Philippines.. si Doctor Jimenez, yan po ay patuloy nating inaayos at sa tingin ko po ay naayos na,” Philhealth Vice President for Corporate Affairs Israel Francis Pargas stated.
