The organizers of the MMFF 2013, MMDA announced that the 39th edition of the festival earned an additional P100 million on its second day, the eight competing entries earned a total of more than P234 million.
During the December 26 national screening of MMFF-2013 entries, MMDA noted that 34% higher than the 2012 festival’s record two-day earnings. The Christmas Day box office earnings for this year’s MMFF was also a record-breaker at P134 million, a 23% higher than the 2012 opening-day gross of P105 million.
Most of the earnings came from the top-grossing MMFF movie “My Little Bossings” which earned more than P50.4 million on December 25 alone as noted by Kris Aquino.
MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino has yet to specify the gross earnings of each eight competing films this year, but the MMFF organizers did not reveal yet the official figures of the film’s total income.
