Kapuso Adopt-a-Bangka Campaign ⛵ GMA Regional TV, in partnership with the Bantayan Island (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation of Hotels, Resorts, Bars, and Restaurants, Inc., helps rebuild and rehabilitate bangkas, a major tool of livelihood for local fisherfolk at the Island of Bantayan in Northern Cebu.

As GMA supports holistic and transformative rehabilitation of these affected communities, we support the Bantayan Back-to-Sea Project, through the Kapuso Adopt-a-Bangka campaign.

The info drive campaign helps provide long-term livelihood opportunities for the fishermen and local communities who were greatly affected by super-typhoon Yolanda. Rebuilding a typical bangka will cost between Php15,000.00–Php25,000.00 and can last for 15–20 years. I am personally inviting donors to join us in this cause.

Through the help of sponsors, the bangkas will be rebuilt and rehabilitated. These fishermen need their bangkas as well as fishing implements (hooks, nets, etc) so that they can help themselves, and in turn, help their communities.
