The Southeast Asian Games ended successfully on December 22, 2013 with host country Myanmar bids goodbye to various international athletes and officials who graced the event. The SEA Games 2013 took place Naypyidaw, the new capital of Myanmar.
Some of the games were also held in the cities of Yangon, Mandalay and Ngwesaung Beach. The 27th SEA Games hosting of Myanmar is a huge achievement for the county as they ranked second over-all in medal tally with a total of 86 Gold, 62 Silver and 85 Bronze medals.
The Myanmar SEA Games 2013 organizers awarded a total of 1557 medals; 460 Gold, 460 Silver and 637 Bronze medals to all the deserving athletes who participated in the biennial sporting event in the region.
Thailand dominated the 2013 SEA Games with a total of 107 Gold, 94 Silver and 81 Bronze medals in the competition. Powerhouse Vietnam was ranked at the third spot after Myanmar got the second most number of medals. Vietnam has a total of 73 Gold, 86 Silver, and 86 Bronze medals.
Coming in Fourth Place is the former SEA Games powerhouse team, Indonesia with 65 Gold, 84 Silver and 111 Bronze. The team was followed by Malaysia at Fifth, with a total of 43 Gold, 38 Silver, and 77 Bronze medals.
The Philippine national squad in Myanmar SEA Games is ranked at the seventh place only behind Singapore, the Philippines has a total of 29 Gold, 34 Silver and 38 Bronze medals.
The national team of Brunei is the lowest ranked team at the No. 11 spot with a total of 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 6 Bronze medals.
