According to the reigning pound-for-pound king he would rather vacate his WBC title than to fight Manny Pacquiao. In a report by KickerDaily, he was quoted as saying “He can have the belt. A belt doesn’t make me,” Mayweather said.

The probable grand match up between Manny Pacquiao came after the WBC declared Manny Pacquiao as the No. 1 contender for the welterweight division held by Mayweather, making Pacquiao as the mandatory challenger.

The 36-year-old Floyd Mayweather refused to cooperate and stated that he would rather give up his belt than to fight Manny Pacquiao, he also reiterated that the Filipino boxing icon is not worthy of the shot at his crown.

The undefeated American boxer Mayweather questioned the decision of the WBC to put Pacquiao ahead of fellow American boxer Timothy Bradley and Mexican boxing icon Juan Manuel Marquez, who both won against the Filipino.

Aside from stating that Pacquiao is not worthy to fight him, Floyd Mayweather also pointed out the disparity of their fight records. Mayweather said that he is undefeated in 45 fights, while Manny Pacquiao lost two of his last three fights.
