The De La Salle University Green Archers defeated the Southwestern University Cobras during the Game One of the Philippine Collegiate Champions League basketball competition.
La Salle routed the SWU Cobras with the final score at 64-54 on Monday, December 16, 2013 at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan, Metro Manila for the PCCL Finals.
The SWU Cobras shocked the UAAP Champion team La Salle last week in overtime 68-58 but the Archers successfully avenged their previous loss and gained a one-game lead in the best-of-three finals series.
La Salle got their revenged as they showed no mercy in the first three quarters of Game 1, leading by as much as 22 points although the Cobras tried to regain their momentum in the fourth and final effort the effort of the Cebu-based squad is not enough to stop the Archers in securing the Game One.
The 2008 PCCL champion team, La Salle got the much-needed points from star player Jeron Teng and Thomas Torres leading La Salle’s victory over the CESAFI-runner-up team in the Visayas, the SWU Cobras.
The De La Salle Green Archers will try to close out the tournament tomorrow as they battle the Southwestern University Cobras in Game Two of PCCL Finals at the same venue.
