Miley Cyrus Declared MTV’s Best Artist 2013

Former Disney Hannah Montana Princess Miley Cyrus was declared as this year’s MTV’s Best Artist because of her performance at MTV Video Music Awards.

In the official statement of MTV it says, Miley Cyrus dominated the music charts and the headlines with the release of her album “Bangers,” with her jaw dropping performance awards shows and her hosting stint on the television sketch show “Saturday Night Live.”

21-year-old Miley Cyrus was the third to receive the distinction of being named MTV’s Best Artist of the Year with pat honorees including Katy Perry for the year 2012 and One Direction in the year 2011.

The singer Miley Cyrus also ranked by MTV.com top artist, based on the fan visits to the site, and had the most watched video of 2013 with her live performance with singer Robin Thicke at the VMAs.

On October, in an MTV documentary released, Miley Cyrus admitted that she was out to shock and to push the boundaries and added she was unapologetic for her provocative performance with Thicke.

Miley Cyrus was followed by the two Hip-hop artist named Macklemore and Ryan Lewis which joined on the MTV list best artists for 2013, together with Justin Timberlake, rapper Kanye West and Britist boy band One Direction rounding out the top five.

Meanwhile Katy Perry was ranked on No. 6, next to her are the rapper Drake, R&B singer Bruno Mars, 17-year-old New Zealand-born singer/ songwriter Lorde and Lady Gaga.
