Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas reiterated that the short YouTube viral video showing him talking to Mayor Alfred Romualdez of Tacloban City is trying to deceive people and counters with his own version of the full video.

According to Mar Roxas in an ABS-CBN report, he said that the video was edited and spliced. He was quoted as saying “This spliced video conveniently hides the truth. Let the truth come out. Tigilan na ang panlilinlang,” he said.
The first controversial YouTube video was uploaded by a certain “Josemari Gonzalez” showing Mar Roxas talking to Mayor Romualdez. The video shows Roxas saying, “You have to understand, you are a Romualdez and the President is an Aquino.” which went viral after it was posted online.
The full video of the meeting between Mar Roxas and Mayor Romualdez was uploaded by Cito Beltan on YouTube. The 42-minute unedited video’s audio is garbled at the start but in its 6:50 mark, Roxas is heard to say, “You have to understand, you are a Romualdez and the President is an Aquino. He is being very careful in just taking over because he doesn’t want anything to be misconstrued.” he said.
Mayor Romualdez stood by his claim that the local government of Tacloban City did not get enough help while the Aquino administration said it should not be blamed. DILG Secretary Mar Roxas on his part denied Romualdez’ claim and said the government did not neglect Tacloban City.
