Eat Bulaga mainstay, Vic Sotto will be doing a sitcom with ABS-CBN in the near future as host-actress Kris Aquino revealed that the Kapamilya Channel is planning to work with the veteran comedian.
The revelation was made during an interview with entertainment reporters during the press conference for the movie “My Little Bossings,” featuring Kris Aquino, Vic Sotto, James “Bimby” Yap Jr. and child star Ryzza Mae.
Kris Aquino was quoted as saying “Ang unang nagpasabi, I can admit that, na it’s Tita Cory Vidanes. Way back, 2002 yata ‘yun, nag-guest si Vic sa ‘Game Ka Na Ba.’ One of the highest rated episodes nung time na ‘yun. Nag-meet na sila ni Tita Cory para gumawa sana siya ng sitcom sa ABS,” said Aquino.
She added further “That was the time din na re-negotiations with GMA. Tinapatan [ng GMA ang offer]. So hindi natuloy ‘yung sa ABS kahit dalawa or tatlong meetings na. So nung nakiki-meeting ako kay Tita Cory para sa TV rights [ng movie], siya nagpaalala. Sabi niya, ‘Please remind Vic na 11 or 12 years ago, hinintay ko na ito. Baka naman ngayon puwede na,” Aquino continued, recalling her conversation with Vidanes.
Meanwhile Vic Sotto on his part refused to discuss the matter at the moment, according to Kris Aquino. The KrisTV host, Kris Aquino also noted during the interview that while Vic Sotto is a mainstay of “Eat Bulaga,” he does not have a contract with GMA-7 since the noontime variety program is produced by TAPE Inc.
