Pau Gasol Scored 24 Points, Donates $24,000 to Yolanda Victims

UNICEF Amb(–foul word(s) removed–)ador and LA Lakers superstar Pau Gasol will be donating a total of $24,000 to the victims of super typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines after he made a promise earlier that he will donate $1,000 for every points he scored.

During the Friday’s (Saturday morning PST) game, the 33-year-old Pau Gasol scored with 24 points on his game against the Golden State Warriors. The Spanish international basketball player is one of the supporters of UNICEF relief efforts in the Philippines.

Pau Gasol led the Los Angeles Lakers victory against the Golden State Warriors. Aside from the pledged donation of Pau Gasol, his official pledge page on UNICEF have also reached more than $5,700 in pledges from various individuals who is helping his drive to raise funds for calamity victims in the Philippines.

With the LA Lakers victory they improved their standings to 6-7 on the season and 5-3 at Staples Center after they defeated the Golden State Warriors with the final score at 102-95.

The Warriors played without superstar Stephen Curry, they suffered their second straight lost at the hands of the Lakers. Pau Gasol led the scoring for the Lakers with 24 points in 11-of-19 shooting from the field aside from adding 10 rebounds.
