Manny Pacquiao is best known for his outstanding combination of power and quickness to systematically wear down opponents. The 34-year-old Pacquiao would glide around the ring searching for the right angles, attack with effective strikes and move away before the other boxer could counter, aside from the fact that he uses his powerful left to target his opponent.

For the past few bouts of Manny Pacquiao he showed some signs of slowing down according to some boxing analysts. Pacquiao is known to score high rate of knockouts early in his career but he has gone six fights without one, his last KO was way back in 2009 against Miguel Cotto.

In order to win against big opponents like Brandon Rios, he must rely heavily on his movement to avoid big shots which Rios planned to land at Pacquiao. If Manny can wear down the American boxer with relentless shots to the body, it should sap Rios’ power for the latter rounds and put Pacquiao in total command of the fight.

Although Brandon Rios is too young at 27-year-old, compared to Manny Pacquiao, his previous fights were up against well-known names in the boxing world with the latest against Alvarado although he lost on their rematch but he showed tremendous power against seasoned boxers.

Rios also holds best record in boxing, he hasn’t scored a unanimous decision win since his 2006 fight with Humberto Tapia. On his fight with Manny Pacquiao, Rios understand the importance of winning individual rounds as opposed always to seeking the knockout. because being too aggressive opens the door to counterattacks which is very dangerous for Rios.
