Roska Family Leading Bangon Bantayanons’ Relief Efforts for Bantayan Island

Bangon Bantayanon Facebook Group intended for the relief operations in Cebu’s northernmost island of Bantayan is one of the few unsung heroes in the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda that hit the island last week.

The Bangon Bantayanons FB Page is initiated by Roska Family to help the victims of Bantayan Island, the group was started by Roska Family in Cebu, New Jersey in the US, in Manila, and their friends on Facebook.

The Roska Family is using the social media to help their fellow Bantayanons, who were heavily affected by super typhoon Yolanda that made a fourth landfall in the island of Bantayan last Friday, November 8, 2013.

Bantayan Island has a population of roughly 200,000 which was heavily affected by super typhoon Yolanda which according to reports from the LGU’s, affected almost 95% of population.

According to the Bantayanons Facebook Page, the group has already raised $4,000 and has reached more than 4,400 Likes and counting. Bangon Bantayanon means “Rise up Bantayan people.”
