Clark Quijano High School Player Scores 120 Points in Basketball Game

A High School basketball player from the AMA University High School, Clark Quijano reportedly finished with a whopping points tally in leading his team to a 166-85 victory against the Lord’s Grace Christian School in the 7th Mariano Bondoc Cup at the Hope Christian Academy in Fairview Quezon City.

Clark Quijano scored a record-high 120 points breaking the previous records of 104 points established by UAAP Finals MVP Jeron Teng of the De La Salle Green Archers during his high school days from the Xavier School.

The 16-year-old cager from AMA University scored with a total of 100 points in the first half alone, including 59 points in the opening quarter, followed by 20 points in the second half.

The record recently held by Clark Quijano previously belongs to one of the most prolific scorers in the UAAP Men’s Basketball Senior Team of the DLSU Green Archers, Jeron Teng. The 19-year-old Jeron Teng scored with 104 markers during his team’s 164-74 rout of Grace Christian College on January 5, 2011.

Aside from Clark Quijano and Jeron Teng, other basketball stars who achieved similar scoring feats include former Jose Rizal University Light Bomber Keith Agovida, who scored with 82 points during their 127-49 blowout victory over Mapua in an NCAA game in 2008.

Agovida’s record was also broken by Joshua Saret who scored with 89 points in the JRU Light Bombers 171-43 win over Angeles University Foundation Junior Danes in 2009. Saret also finished with a rare quadruple-double during that game, pulling down 11 rebounds, 12 (–foul word(s) removed–)ists and registering 13 steals to cap a remarkable performance.
