The Miss Universe Organization announced on October 18, the hosts of the year’s highly-anticipated beauty pageant, Thomas Robers of MSNBC Live and Mel B. of America’s Got Talent are the host of the 2013 Miss Universe Competition.
The announcement was made by NBC, Donald J. Trump, and Paula M. Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization. The 62nd annual Miss Universe beauty pageant which will start airing Saturday, Nov. 9 (9-11 PM ET/PT) from Crocus City Hall in Moscow. The global event will also air with a Spanish simulcast on Telemundo.
The host, Thomas Roberts is an award-winning journalist and host of “MSNBC Live” at 11:00 AM weekdays. He also serves as a fill-in host and contributor on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” and NBC’s “Today.”
The 41-year-old Thomas Roberts received a 2002 Emmy-nomination for his work on the documentary “Parvo Puppies” and also received an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2001 for a documentary he produced titled “When Parents Don’t Pay.”
Melanie Brown on the other hand recently appeared as a member of the NBC family as a judge on the eighth season of “America’s Got Talent.” He is best known as “Mel B” of the word’s most popular girl group, “Spice Girls. She is a chart-topping musical artists, actress, author and television personality.
The 38-year-old Mel B. previously hosted the Miss Universe competition when it was held in Vietnam during the year 2008. Aside from the two well-known hosts of the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant, the organization also announced that Panic! At The Disco is set to perform during the Miss Universe broadcast.
International recording artist EMIN will also take the stage during the Miss Universe beauty pageant. EMIN is the one behind the hit single “Amor,” which was already released in Russia, Great Britain, and his native Azaerbaijan. Reigning Miss Universe Olivia Culpo is also featured in EMIN’s popular music video.
