Jeric Teng Applies for PBA Rookie Draft 2013

University of Sto. Tomas star shooting guard Jeric Teng applies for the Philippine Basketball (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation (PBA) rookie draft for the 2014 season of Asia’s first professional basketball league.

The 21-year-old graduating student of the UST Growling Tigers in the UAAP is now setting his sights on making it to the big league where his father, Alvin Teng, once a star player during his youth days.

Jeric Teng was older brother of the UAAP Finals MVP Jeron Teng of the De La Salle Green Archers is now ready for the Philippines most popular basketball league the PBA. Although he was not able to bring home the championship for his team UST, he promised he will do it better in the PBA.

During an interview with ANC’s Headstart on Tuesday, Jeric Teng admitted that he has applied for the rookie draft so he can fulfill his dreams of playing in the pro league. Jeric also noted that his role model is his da, the PBA legend, who was known throughout the leage as “Robocop.” Someday he hopes that whoever teams may get him will notice his talent on the hardcourt.

Jeric Teng will joined the likes of former Ateneo stalwart Greg Slaughter, Ian Sangalang, Nico Salva, Ronald Pascual and Letran behemoth Raymond Almazan.
