UST vs. La Salle Game Three Preview: UAAP Finals 2013

The University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers is determined to win the UAAP title after they successfully entered the finals facing the equally-talented De La Salle University Green Archers in a decisive Game Three today at around 3:00 PM.

This year’s finalist of the UAAP Men’s Basketball Championship were the unexpected teams as the former undefeated Far Eastern University Tamaraws were defeated in Final Four while the top-seeded National University Bulldogs also fell into the hands of the fourth-seeded team.

The UST vs. La Salle match-up reached the penultimate Game Three today after the Green Archers avenged their first lost against the Growling Tigers and extend the series into Game Three. The UAAP men’s basketball finalist also featured a second generations of basketball stars as the two sons of Alvin Teng represent each team. Jeron Teng played for DLSU while the UST Growling Tigers featured the older Jeric Teng.

The rivalries of the UST and La Salle during the early 90’s was also renewed in their quest for the ultimate title. During the Game One of the UAAP Finals the game ended down the wire with UST escaping with one point lead at 73-72. On the second game of the UAAP Finals the Green Archers proved their strength by defeating the Tigers 76-70.

The Game Three is just a few hours form now, featuring some of the most popular collegiate players of our generations. Will the UST reclaim it’s glory and avenge their previous loss to Ateneo or will the DLSU got the trophy they won last 2006? The battlefield at the MOA Arena is now ready for the highly anticipated Game Three of the UAAP Finals.
