The match will feature three international teams including the Philippines, Chinese Taipei and the national football team of Pakistan. The first game of the Philippine Peace Cup will kick off at around 7:00 PM live from Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
The Philippine Azkals is the defending champion of the competition after its inaugural season held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium last year. The Philippines will try to make a repeat against last year’s runner-up, the Chinese Taipei national squad who are currently in Bacolod City for the tournament.
According to Coach Hans Michael Weiss, the Philippines will field one of their strongest team (–foul word(s) removed–)embled due to the presence of Europe-based players such as Stephan Schrock, Neil Etheridge, Jerry Lucena, Rob Gier who are given the clearance by their respective European teams.
