La Salle Defeated UST in Game 2 of UAAP Finals Score 77-70

The De La Salle University Green Archers defeated the UST Growling Tigers and extend the best-of-three series into Game 3 in the 76th UAAP Men’s Basketball Finals held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The victory of the Green Archers is their 10th win on their last 11 outings, La Salle was able to secure their 9th straight wins in the second round of elimination and int the final four but they were defeated by UST in Game 1 ending their winning streak.

With La Salle’s victory, the Game 3 is now scheduled to take place this coming Saturday, October 12 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. The Growling Tigers is still optimistic that they can make a record in the UAAP as the first and only fourth seed to win the title.

UST’s Jeric Teng started his team’s uprising, scoring with 12 points to get the Tigers within reach at 44-43 in 7:29 left in the third but the Tigers momentum quickly returned to La Salle with the leadership of Most Improved player Arnold Van Opstal and Norbert Torres as the Green Archers pull away in 13-2 offensive with just 3 minutes in the fourth.
