Ariella “Ara” Hernandez Arida was born on November 20, 1988, in Alaminos, Laguna. Arida is a Filipino beauty titleholder who is the current Miss Universe-Philippines 2013. Prior to her win at Binibining Pilipinas, she was a runway model and was also a contender at the Miss Philippines Earth 2012 representing Alaminos, Laguna.
Ariella is a chemistry graduate from the University of the Philippines Los Baños from Alaminos, Laguna. She is a sportswoman who loves the outdoors, especially the beach. Prior to winning the title, Ara competed at Miss Philippines Earth 2012 and was a former Binibining Laguna contestant. Additionally Arida is a member of Iglesia ni Cristo.
Ara Arida like Megan Young who won the title for Miss World 2013, is another pride of the Philippines. She will represent the country in Moscow for Miss Universe 2013.
