The Philippine Azkals remains at 141 spot in the latest FIFA rankings released on September 12, 2013. The non-movement of the Philippines ranking was due to the recent lost of the national team against Indonesia last month.
The national football team of the Philippines, Philippine Azkals was defeated by Indonesia in an international friendly sanctioned by FIFA with the final score at 2-0.
The Philippine team is currently preparing for the AFC Challenge Cup to be held next year in Maldives. The winner of the competition will secure a ticket to the Asian Cup to be held in Australia.
The Azkals will have a friendly match also sanctioned by FIFA this coming November against Middle East powerhouse team, United Arab Emirates. The international friendly is part of the Azkals preparation for the Challenge Cup.
