Kapamilya actress and comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas explains her side when she was asked about a certain “Brazilian guy” seen with her in a “selfie” that went viral online for the past few days.
The 48-year-old actress addressed the matter shorter after a blogger conference held on Thursday afternoon for her upcoming action-comedy film, “Kung Fu Divas” which will hit theaters nationwide on October 2.
Ai Ai shared to the media that the photo was taken during a thanksgiving celebration held last Sunday, which she personally organized as a devotee of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The actress could not contain her laughter when asked about the guy, she was quoted as saying that, “Ano ba ‘yang Brazilian na ‘yan! Nakakatawa! Unang-una, hindi siya Brazilian. Ano siya, Mexican-Hawaiian, and friend ko ‘yon. Kaibigan ko ‘yon, and boss ‘yon,” delas Alas said, laughing.
A follow question to Ai Ai was then given to Ai Ai, she was asked why she appeared to be so close in the “selfie,” considering their supposed professional ties, at first the actress laughed but she added in a serious comments and she was quoted saying the following:
 “Hindi, kasi nung mga panahon na ‘yon, lahat ng mga boss ng ini-endorse ko, in-invite ko, and siguro dahil maraming ginagawa ‘yung iba, siya lang ‘yung isa sa mga nakapunta. So thankful naman ako na nando’n siya.” Ai Ai stated.
The actress made a statement further that at this moment she don’t want to be involved in any relationship, just pure friendship. Ai Ai was previously embroiled in a controversy that ended her marriage with Jed Salang. They got married on April 3 but was separated a month later, with delas Alas accusing Salang of domestic violence.
