Susan Fuentes died at 58

After fighting with Stage 4 colon cancer, the “Queen of Visayan Songs” in the 70’s p(–foul word(s) removed–)ed away at 12:20pm on Saturday after prolong confinement at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute in Quezon City where she undergone dialysis treatment.

Susan Toyogan in real name, born in Butuan City and was brought to Manila after high school where she started her career in singing.   With her signature sultry singing voice, Susan Fuentes popularized such Visayan songs like “ Miss Kita Kung Christmas”, “Matud Nila”, “Usahay”, and “Gimingaw Ako”.  She released seven albums, all certified gold records.
