Veteran Gilas Pilipinas point guard LA Tenorio who is currently playing for Ginebra San Miguel was named as the PBA Player of the Week for the period of August 19-24, 2013 after he tallied his new career-high in the team’s victory over Meralco last Saturday in the Governor’s Cup.
LA Tenorio made an impressive performance exploding for 34 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 7 (–foul word(s) removed–)ists for the team’s first victory in the Governor’s Cup after a dismal first game performance with the Gin Kings.
Due to LA’s performance, he was praised by Ginebra’s new coach Ato Agustin but Tenorio deflected the praise to him and just said that if given the opportunity to take charge he is willing to do it. According to LA, luck has a contribution with his career-high performance and most of all with the support of his team.
Tenorio also admitted that he is still adjusting with the new system by Agustin together with his team mate from the national team, Japeth Aguilar. He adds further that the team were motivated to nail their first win in the conference.
