October 2013 Electronics Engineering (ECE) Board Exam Postponed

The PRC (Professional Regulation Commission) announced on Monday, August 12, 2013, the indefinite postponement of the Licensure Examination for Electronics and Electronics Technicians originally set on October 18, 19, and 20, 2013.

The Postponement of ECE and Electronics Technician Board Exam was recommended by the Board of Electronics Engineering. The agency was quoted as saying that, “While the Board anticipates new appointments to the Professional Regulatory Board of Electronice Engineering, it has determined that there will be no sufficient time for the new members to formulate questions and prepare for the October 2013 licensure exams,” the Board said.

According to the PRC through Commission Resolution No. 773 dated July 23, 2013 cited the need for indefinite postponement due to the vacancies in the Board, only one (1) member.

The Board, as a collegial body, is short of the requirement for a quorum to validly perform its duties and functions, specifically in the formulation and extraction of test items/questions, examination proper and releasing of results.
