During the President’s talk with the reporters at the Mindanao Business Conference in Davao City, the President said that he will give Danilo Lim a new (–foul word(s) removed–)ignment outside the agency. Lim resigned the day after the President criticized the BOC in his State of the Nation Address on July 22. He was working as Customs Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence.

The President was quoted as saying that, “I’ll be giving him a new (–foul word(s) removed–)ignment. We’re still in the process of discussing where exactly his new (–foul word(s) removed–)ignment will be. I spent most of time getting briefed on the nitty gritty as far as the Customs is concerned. The problems that he encountered, issues—para mas nabigyan substance suspicion ko before,” Aquino said.

On the other hand, the President stated that he has not spoken to Deputy Commissioner Juan Lorenzo Tañada who also offered to vacate his post. Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon is also batting to retain Tañada in his current position.
