Iran continued its dominance in FIBA Asia Championship after they routed Kazakhstan in Group F of the second round of elimation with an 85-53 victory over the top team in the previous Group D.

NBA star and Iran’s most popular player Hamed Haddadi topscored with 16 points and 9 rebounds for Iran. The two-time Asian champion dominated the first and second round of the competition and currently seating at the top spot in Group F. The team have not won by less than 11 points in its six wins in the competition.
Team Iran will now head into the knockout stages on Friday against the Group E’s fourth-seed team Jordan. The two nations will renew their rivalry in the competition, last 2009, Iran defeated Jordan in the semis but during the 2011 edition, Jordan pulled off the biggest upset of the tournament and knocked out Iran in the medal rounds.
