During the interview Manny was asked of his thought of shooting for the top job, and the soft-spoken boxing icon replied, “Yes.” The 34-year-old was quoted as saying that, “When I started boxing, of course I was planning, you know, and thinking about getting to become a champion. So when I enter politics it’s the same thing.”

He adds further that, “But, you know, it’s far away,” “It’s God’s will.” Manny said. Right now Manny focused on his next fight with Brandon Rios at The Venetian resort-hotel in Macau this coming November 24, 2013 at around 10:00 AM.

According to some sources, the unconventional start time for the Pacquiao vs. Rios fight is for the benefit of the lucrative US pay-per-view audience, who will be settling down to watch the fight mid-evening on Saturday, as top promoter Bob Arum tries to elbow his way into the China market.

During the interview with the press, Manny also admitted that his mother doesn’t want him to fight anymore because she doesn’t like it. The mother of Manny wanted his son to focus on serving the people as the current Congressman was successful enough with his political career.
