The Bahrain national basketball team released their final line-up for the FIBA Asia Championship 2013. Bahrain belongs to Group D of the tournament with India, Kazakhstan, and Thailand.
One of the prominent Bahrain player doning his country’s color is the DLSU Green Archers guard Bader Malabes who is a regulat mainstay for the Middle Eastern team. Team Bahrain was also the first team to arrive in the Philippines as part of their preparation for the Asian Championship.
Aside from Malabes, Bahrain will also field another familiar face as the team will feature naturalized player CJ Giles, he was also a team mate of Malabes in Bahrain’s Muharraq roster. Giles was one of the stars eyed by the Philippines as naturalized player during Coach Rajko Toroman’s reign as national coach.
Bahrain placed second during the 2012 GCC Championship just behind overall champion, Qatar, and qualified for the 27th FIBA Asia Championship.
