Cignal Secures 2nd Semis Berth at Phil. Super Liga

Cignal made an automatic semifinal slot in the on-going Philippine Super Liga after previous leader Cagayan Valley dropped to fourth spot when they were defeated by Petron Blaze with the score at 25-21, 25-23, 22-25, 25-19.

Last Sunday, Cignal, Petron and Cagayan finished with similar 3-2 records behind the current leader in the competition, the TMS-Philippine Army who clinched the first semifinals berth of the tournament.

Cignal eventually ranked second based on the most number of sets won followed by Petron and Cagayan. Meanwhile, after a hot 3-0 start of the Lady Rising Suns they will battle it out with the PLDT MyDSL Speed Boosters while Petron will clash with Bingo Milyonaryo in a knockout duels for the last two semifinals slot this coming Sunday.

According to Philippine Super Liga officer Ariel Paredes, they are expecting that more clubs will join in the upcoming regular season which will start in September. He also stated that with the current development in the PSL games, all teams were balanced in the competition.
