San Miguel Captured ABL Title Against Warriors

The Philippine representatives to the Asean Basketball League, San Miguel Beer captured their first-ever ABL title after they defeated Indonesia with the final score at 70-55.

The Game 3 of the ABL Finals was held at the Mahaka Square in Jakarta. Former PBA MVP Asi Taulava topscored for the Beermen with 19 points, Chris Banchero added with 10 points and Leo Avenido contributed with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Beerman, Chris Banchero also captured the Finals MVP award leading the team as they sweep their opponent on the road to avenge their last year’s Finals defeat against the Warriors.

The ABL title was also important for the Philippines as they returned the crown to the country during the Philippine Independence Day. The defunct Philippine Patriots won the crown during the inaugural season of the league in 2009-2010 season.

The Beermen have also an impressive records in the competition as they won 19-3 win-loss slate.
