Manila Floods Caused Classes Suspension on June 13 List of Schools

Heavy rains and floods in Metro Manila forced some academic institutions to cancel their afternoon classes. Outgoing Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim suspended classes in all public schools, both the elementary and high school levels, effective at 3:00 P.M.

According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), flood water along España Boulevard was already knee-deep as of 3:20 p.m. Aside from that area, Taft Avenue is also under the same condition.

Weather bureau PAGASA said the rains being experienced in parts of the country are due to the enhanced southwest monsoon (Habagat).
