Google Doodle for 115th Philippine Independence Day

The world’s leading internet search company, Google, joined the Philippine Independence Day celebration by posting on the homepage of Google.com.ph an animated Google Doodle, depicting the historic declaration of Independence in 1898.

The Kalayaan 2013 Doodle was put up on the search engine’s front page on Wednesday, June 12, showing an animated version of the scene from the June 12, 1898, Declaration of Independence from Spain made in Kawit, Cavite.

Here’s the Google Doodle especially made for the Philippines:

The Google Text were replaced with significant images as a sign of Philippine Independence. The two letters O’s were replaced, first, the image of the ancestral home of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, and the second O was replaced with the eight-rayed Sun from the Philippine flag.

There is also an animated person waving the flag from the home’s balcony, as a row of people sporting native hats look on from below. The Google Doodle is the fourth doodle made by the company. The first one was during the 111th Independence Day in 2009, and the second one on 2010 and the third one was on 2012.
