Gilas Pilipinas Defeated Lithuania 20-Under National Team

The Philippine National Men’s Basketball Team, Gilas Pilipinas made an astonishing performance as they bounce back from their tough loss on Sunday and defeated the National 20-Under Team of Lithuania with the final score at 83-75.

The Philippines fourth match on their Lithuania training camps was held at the Nida Gym in Neringa, Lithuania. According to National Coach Chot Reyes they were able to play their game plan against the Lithuanian which featured three players playing in a US NCAA Division school.

Gilas National guard Jason Castro led the Philippines in scoring with 14 points, while naturalized center Marcus Douthit added with 12 points. The game against Lithuanian squad is part of the Philippines preparation in the upcoming FIBA Asia Men’s Championship to be held in Metro Manila this coming August.

The National squad won its first two tuneup games, an 81-76 victory over Klaipedos Neptunas, before whipping Birstono Jazz-Diremta, 74-63. The only loss so far suffered by the Philippines is against the LSU-Baltai with the score at 86-89.
