Kapuso actress Sarah Lahbati is under an arrest warrant due to libel case. The warrant of arrest has been issued by the Makati RTC after her mother network, GMA-7 filed a case against her.
The incident started when Sarah Lahbati accused her film production outfit (GMA Films) president Annette Gozon-Abrogar of questionable talent management deals through her tweet late last year.
The arrest warrant can be issued in the Philippines only, therefore Sarah, who is currently in Switzerland can only be arrested once she comes back to the country. The trial of her case won’t push through until the warrant is served.
Abrogar’s counsel Atty. Gener Asuncion stated that, “Advice for Sarah, to face the court and face the charges against her. Let her rebut the accusation of Atty. Abrogar,” Atty. Asuncion stated.
According to (–foul word(s) removed–)istant City Prosecutor Torres Peña of the Makati RTC, pointed out that Sarah failed to present evidence to show that her “malicious” tweets were made in good faith.
Sarah Lahbati has gone AWOL (Absence Without Leave) when she made a self-imposed vacation in Switzerland although she has an active contract with GMA Network.
