The Department of Transportation and Communication announced on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 that the Filipino veterans will be having a free ride for LRT 1, LRT 2 and MRT 3 starting from April 5 until April 11.

The April 9, “Araw ng Katigingan” holidays is one of the declared national holidays in the country based upon Proclamation No. 459 issued by President Aquino last August 2012.
Aside from the veterans having free rides with the LRT, the caregivers accompanying them are also excluded in fares with the provision that the veterans will present their Phil. Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) ID cards.

Veterans only need to present their Phil Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) ID cards. Caregivers/Aides of veterans may also ride for free.
