The Philippines tourism campaign got a positive response after two Chinese papers have named the country as the most popular destination in Asia. The Guanzhou Information Times and the Guangzhou International Tourism Fair (GITF) selected the Philippines during a separate ceremonies held in the capital of Guangdon in Shouthern China.
The Vice President of Guangzhou Information Times, Li Xinzhang, present to the Philippines the “Most Popular Destination in Asia,” award. The awards of recognition was received by Philippine Tourism Undersecretary Daniel Corpuz and Consul General to Guangzhou Raly Tejada.
The Philippines was also among the recipients of the “Most Popular Destination” awards during the Guangzhou International Travel Fair (GITF) Awards night held at the China Marriot Hotel.
The country is now considered as one of the top destinations in the world with co-winners which include Dubai (UAE), Chicago (US), Korea, Seychelles, Maurititus, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Macau, and Italy.
The GITF was recognized as one of the most significant international travel fairs in the Asia-Pacific Region for its extensive influence upon the tourism industry worldwide.
The recognition of the Philippines as one of the major destinations among Asian countries was just one of the positive outcome of the government’s all-out support especially in the tourism campaign of the country.
