Pusong Bato is considered as one of the popular local song composed in the Philippines, it was first posted on YouTube by original singer Ms. Aimee Torres. The song is an original composition of Renee “Alon” Dela Rosa. It was then popularized in a music video by the Kulaog Band.
Since becoming popular on YouTube, there are numerous versions surfaced on the online world, it even attracted international cover versions. One of the most talk-about version of the song is the video cover of Nigerians student singing the hit “Pusong Bato.”
The video cover of Pusong Bato by Nigerians students who are currently studying in Cebu at the UC-METC. The video was first posted on YouTube last February 14, 2013. It became a hot trending topics on Twitter.
According to the video uploader identified as Mark Abadiano, they have taught their first year students at UC on how to sing the song “Pusong Bato” to build rapport with locals.
The song “Pusong Bato” was also a hit on ABS-CBN Primetime as one of the soundtrack in the hit series, “Juan dela Cruz,” as interpreted by Jovit Baldivino.
