Novak Djokovic Defeated Murray Won Australian Open 2013

Serbian and world no. 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic defeated Andy Murray in a gruelling four-set final to clinch his three-peat Australian Open title held at the Rod Laver Arena on Sunday, January 27, 2013.

Djokovic lost the opening set in a tiebreaker but dominated Murray in the next set and win 6-7 (2/7), 7-6 (7/3), 6-2 with a total time of 3 hours and 40 minutes.

The win in the Australian Open is his fourth over-all and his sixth Grand Slam title overall which put himself as one of the greatest tennis player in the world.

The 25-year-old Djokovic became the first man in the Open Era and third man ever to win three consecutive Australian Open titles, joining Australians Jack Crawford (1931-33) and five-time winner Roy Emerson (1963-67).

Djokovic’s opponent, Andy Murray is the current world number three and it was his second lost to Djokovic in the Grand Slam Final after the 2011 Australian Finals.
