The man behind Aman Futures, Emmanuel Amalilio has been arrested on Malaysia on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 after three months of intensive manhunt.
The founder and owner of the Philippines’ largest and multi-billion, double-your-money scheme pyramiding scam was allegedly duped over 15,000 residents from the Visayas and Mindanao area. An estimated P12 Billion worth of money was duped by Aman Futures.
Amalilio whose real name was Mohammad Suffian Saaid started the Aman Futures Family Group initially targeting low-income investors but eventually got the attentions of professionals because of the promise of a high return of investment of 70 percent return after one week.
The confirmation of Amalilio’s arrest was made by Justice Secretary Leila de Lima on Wednesday. De Lima stated that Malaysian authorities arrested Amalilio in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.
