Outgoing AFP Chief Gen. Jessie Dellosa made a slip of the tongue during the farewell message as he mentioned iconic actor Paquito Diaz. Both Paquito Diaz and Paquito Ochoa have the same first name.
Dellosa’s mistake drew smiles and subdued laughter from the audience which includes the highest official in the land, the President and Vice President with high-ranking military and police officers.
The retiring General tapped his forehead and shook his head in apparent embarr(–foul word(s) removed–)ment after realizing that it was supposed to be Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. to be mentioned and not Paquito Diaz.
Here’s what Dellosa have stated: The honorable Executive Secretary Paquito Diaz… I’m sorry sir, Paquito Ochoa.” Despite the mistake, the show went on and he thanked the people who have supported him during his stint as AFP Chief.
General Dellosa was succeeded by current AFP Chief Gen. Emmanuel Bautista.
