Sports aficionado and telecom magnate Manuel V. Pangilinan continues his dream of owning an NBA (National Basketball (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation) franchise as he studied offers from different NBA teams.
During an interview with a group of reporters, MVP, stressed that he is seriously looking at offers for him to invest between 5 to 10 percent in an NBA Team. Although he refused to name the team he stated that the team belongs to the Western Conference of the NBA.
For the past years, PLDT top honcho MVP confirmed reports that he was looking at a majority stake in an offer to join a group of investors that was supposed to take over the struggling Sacramento Kings in the NBA but the deal did not materialize.
Manny Pangilinan is also the president of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, who owns several franchises in the PBA including the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters and the Meralco Bolts. He was also a supporter of amateur teams playing in the PBA D-League such as the NLEX Warriors and college basketball teams such UP and San Beda.
