According to PAG-ASA Typhoon Quinta is the 17th storm to enter the country’s area of responsibility. On their December 25, 4:00 PM update, the center of Tropical Storm “Quinta” was located at 90 km Southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar (10.3°N, 126.5°E) with a maximum sustained winds of 75 kph and gustiness of up to 90 kp.
The PAG-ASA forecasts that it will move west at 24 kph. Northeast monsoon will affect Luzon. The typhoon is heading towards Region 7 in the Visayas. It has been given the international name “Wukong” (Chinese name for monkey).
Meanwhile the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has already gone on red alert for the new storm while continuing to provide (–foul word(s) removed–)istance to victims of typhoon “Pablo.”
