Azkals vs. Myanmar Preview AFF Suzuki Cup 2012

The Philippines will play one of their biggest games in the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup against Myanmar which will determine their fate if they can return to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Host team Thailand leads the Group A in team standing, although the Philippines comes in second place but they are not (–foul word(s) removed–)ured of the second spot unless they win against Myanmar.

Vietnam and Myanmar have one point each after they drew one game and having one defeat. A win for the Philippine Azkals will (–foul word(s) removed–)ure them of an outright ticket to the semis.

Azkals coach Weiss will be returning to in the pitch to lead the Philippines, he cited that Myanmar’s game relies on strong counter attackts and a heavy defensive lines but their opponent will definitely change their course against the determined Azkals.

The Azkals will lost holding midfielder Jerry Lucena, who has returned to his Danish Superliga side Esbjerg fB, while defender Ray Jonsson is injured.

Myanmar have never lost to the Philippines in the AFF Suzuki Cup with 4 wins and 2 draws. The man to match by the Azkals in Myanmar side is the 20-year-old Kyi Lin.
