Philippine Senator Vicente Sotto III finally apologized to the Kennedy Family for using and translating the former Senator’s famous 1966 Day of Affirmation Speech.
Although the Senator have already apologized but he insisted that he did not commit plagiarism. Senator Sotto even recalled that he copied the quotes from a friend’s text message and was unaware that it was Kennedy’s words.
Although he already admitted his mistakes, he was also quoted as saying that “But copying or imitation is the highest form of flattery. If it upsets the Kennedy family, I’m sorry. But that is not the intention that we have.” Sotto stated.
In terms of copying against well-known blogger Sarah Pope, Janice Formichella, and Peter Engelman, the Senator made a blanket admission that many of the facts did not came from him therefore he belies the claims that he used the parts of some blog entries without attribution.
