Filipinos Affected by Hurricane Sandy at US East Coast

The worst hurricane that hits the East Coast of the United States, Hurrican Sandy have affected not only the Americans but also the immigrants including the half a million Filipinos.

The Philippine Emb(–foul word(s) removed–)y have already issued a warning and advisory urging the Filipinos living in the East Coast to take necessary precautions even before the powerful storm made a landfall.

The Hurricane Sandy which was being dubbed by forecasters as a “perfect storm,” have already caused scores of casualties after hitting the Caribbean.

The Philippine Amb(–foul word(s) removed–)ador to Washington Jose L. Cuisa Jr. issued the following statement disseminated by the Philippine Emb(–foul word(s) removed–)y: “We advise our kababayans staying along the path of Hurricane Sandy to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel until the storm has p(–foul word(s) removed–)ed.”

According to Filipino emb(–foul word(s) removed–)y leaders they intend to make the advisory available to more than 460,000 Filipinos in at least 11 states in the US, as forecasters warned that the US will be affected by the biggest storm to hit the Mainland since the 1990’s.

The Philippine Emb(–foul word(s) removed–)y Officials also announced that for Filipinos who require (–foul word(s) removed–)istance should call the Duty Officer of the Emb(–foul word(s) removed–)y in Washington at 202-368-2767 or the Consulate General in New York at 917-294-0196.
